Prof. Dr. Bernd Wagner is (semi-) retired as Scientific Director from the Environmental Science Centre, University of Augsburg (WZU). He founded and chaired for 20 years the German Association for Sustainable Finance (VfU) and headed the Management Training Centre at the University of Augsburg (ZWW) for 8 years until 2007. He has worked as a teaching and research professor at the University of Sierra Leone and in Beijing, China, on behalf of the EU on matters of Corporate Sustainability, and as Consultant for the World Bank / IFC on Material Efficiency, Material Flow Analysis, Flow Cost and Waste Cost Accounting. Dr. Wagner served among others as a member of the UNEP Expert Working Group on Environmental Management Accounting, the UNEP FI Observer Group on Environmental Performance Indicators for the International Finance Sector and as Council to the German Government.

Dr Wagner has a major in Business Administration and Organizational Psychology from Munich. His main areas of expertise include finance and sustainability, corporate sustainability strategy and management, material flow and waste cost accounting, investors relations and organisational culture.
