As Chief of Minerals Intelligence Research at USGS, Nedal Nassar and his research team quantify the stocks and flows of mineral commodities, develop supply and demand scenarios, and assess the mineral commodity supply risks to the U.S. economy. He serves on the U.S. National Science and Technology Council’s Critical Minerals Subcommittee, the Executive Committee of the USGS Council of Senior Science Advisors, and advisory boards of various international projects.

In 2019, he was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. He holds PhD, MPhil, and MESc degrees from Yale University, MBA from Cornell University, and BChE from the University of Minnesota.
